Job Summary

Auburn University Facilities Management is seeking a dependable and

energetic Service Support Technician to help keep our campus

running smoothly and looking its best. In this hands-on role,

you’ll be responsible for moving furniture and fixtures across

campus using trucks, hand trucks, forklifts, and hydraulic lifts.

You’ll also perform tasks such as window washing and pressure

washing to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

Additionally, you’ll play a key role in supporting campus events by

assisting with setup, takedown, and managing the overall

logistics—helping each event feel seamless for both hosts and

guests.

Essential Functions

  • Moves furniture and fixtures using trucks, hand trucks,

forklifts, and hydraulic lifts.

  • Picks up and delivers custodial materials and supplies.
  • Performs work such as window washing and pressure washing.
  • Assists with setup, take apart, and logistic support (e.g.

tents) for special events.

  • Pulls and backs trailers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Level I: Ability to read and write.

Level II: Ability to read and write plus 2 years of

experience in special event support.

Substitutions allowed for Experience

Substitution

allowed for Experience: When a candidate has the required

education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally

apply additional appropriate education toward the experience

requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year

of required experience.

Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications

Minimum Skills and Abilities

Level I: Follows detailed instructions and procedures.

Level II: Follows detailed instructions and procedures. May

work under limited supervision, and prioritize tasks

independently.

  • Previous experience with moving company or event rental

company.

  • Experience with towing and backing trailers.
